AV Mode media key patch for 9.10 (Karmic Koala)

I have made a patch for latest sony-laptop module in 2.6.31 kernel to fix broken AV Mode key handling.

If you want to apply this patch please follow fourth step in Finally a brightness How To post but apply this new patch instead of old one.

  2. Thanks, working fine on my FW-290. Will this patch be accepted into the kernel trunk soon?
    Having to repatch every time the kernel gets updated can get tiresome!

    Also note that the howto page refers to modules in ./drivers/misc but in Karmic this has changed to ./drivers/platform/x86/

  4. This works on my VGN-FW373J



    Ugly but this makes me able to change brightness on VGN-FW41ZJ:
    echo 76 | sudo dd of=/proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness

    To get allowed values, use:
    cat /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness
